(Newser) – A smoking car mistaken for a bomb sparked a high-heeled stampede among thousands of women awaiting Manhattan auditions for America's Next Top Model yesterday, reports the New York Daily News. Six were injured and three jailed for inciting a riot. "The girls were running like it was 9/11 Part Two," said one. The first audition open to women under 5-foot-7 was in trouble before the scare. Several women fainted, and a fight erupted between two men.

I had to pee in a cup and change my clothes in the street. There was no organization whatsoever. - Contestant Mona Knight

I'm 5-foot-3. There's no way I can make it into a model agency. They would turn me away at the door. We had an opportunity and it was taken away from us. - Contestant Kiara McCarthy

ATTENTION ASPIRING MODELS OF AMERICA: THERE WAS NO BOMB!... NYC IS SAFE!... SO FEEL FREE TO LEAVE YOUR TINY HOMETOWN (where you've never felt you fit in because of your striking beauty) AND FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS TO THE BIG APPLE (where you'll be just an anonymous face in a sea of stunningly beautiful girls who all left their hometowns in search of the same dream -- most of whom don't have a chance of a date, much less realizing their dream, and who will end up single thirtysomethings before ever questioning their decision to move here). SO HURRY ON OVER!... NYC IS AWAITING YOU!... Leave all those plain janes and redneck guys behind! (OFFERED AS A PUBLIC SERVICE from a small town native to the parents of any young beauty who talks about moving to NYC.)
