Rihanna Photo Leak Could Sink Brown Case

Singer's lawyer wants case thrown out if cops were responsible

(Newser) – The case against Chris Brown could be dismissed if a pending probe finds cops were responsible for leaking photos of a battered Rihanna, his lawyer tells E! Online. A Los Angeles judge scheduled the preliminary hearing for May 28 in response to the lawyer's request for a delay in anticipation of the results of the investigation. The judge also released $1.4 million in jewelry Rihanna was wearing during the alleged assault.

The bling includes a pair of earrings and three rings the performer wore to a pre-Grammy party before the incident. An armed guard will bring the borrowed items to her so that she can return them, her lawyer said. "The DA has not informed us whether Rihanna will be called to testify," he added, saying she'll cooperate if asked.

Yeah, right. Leaking of photos does not a dismissal warrant. Reply

Ugh. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. The girl is being an idiot, and this boy deserves to be punished by the full force of the law. No matter how much you "love" a person, violence is NEVER to be taken lightly. Reply

Yep, but why was VIOLENCE taken lightly in the cases of Charlie Sheen, Christian Slater, Jack Nicholson, Rob Lowe, Josh Brolin, WIlliam Shatner,David Hasselhoff; Billy Bob Thorton; Richard Hatch; Ozzy Osbourne; Sean Penn;Yanni; Bary Busey; James Caan; Glen Campbell; Eric Roberts; Axl Rose; Mickey Rourke; Steven Seagal ; Paul Gascoigne; Larry Fitzgerald; Santonio Holmes; Tommy Lee; Chris Noth; Vanilla Ice; Rob Lowe ??All who committed serious abuse against their mates. But now you are all up in arms about a 19 year old kid who 'fought' with his mate..it's not like she didn't fight him just as much as he did her. And he is someone that has confessed to have been traumatized by the abuse his mother suffered at the hands of his step father. So does it really surprise you that he reacted from a hidden hurt and fear when being attacked by Rihanna in that car??? Reply
