Documentary that targets Crist has even gay groups worried

(Newser) Outrage isn’t a conventional summer blockbuster, but its central aim will surely prove explosive: outing prominent politicians who have opposed gay causes. “It’s the responsibility of journalists and filmmakers to report on hypocrisy wherever they see it,” director Kirby Dick told the San Francisco Chronicle. His targets include Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and former New York Mayor Ed Koch.

The film focuses on Republicans, which the GOP sees as evidence of partisan smearing and “the utmost contempt for the people who have made the sacrifice of being in public office,” one official said. And memories of persecution die hard, cautioned a lesbian activist. "I'm not going to condemn those people unless they use their power as a public official to hurt their own community," she said.

When a member of Congress goes on vacation and is on the beach holding hands with his partner, they're out in public. And if they want to get married, we'd love them to be a part of our campaign. - Geoff Kors, Equality California

And we should care because...? Let's all mind our own businesses. There is NO socially redeeming value for this film. It just used Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals #5: ridicule the messenger in order to neutralize the message. Anything to discredit Republicans by Democrats. Did George Soros give any money for this new example of Sorosis of the brain? Boring!!!

Republicans who are closeted homosexuals don't want to come out of the closet. It's less titillating if they accept themselves. Remember Larry Craig....don't tap, don't tell....

This is too funny. I hate hypocrites. Hypocritical Gay Politicians are the most disturbing of all. Where is that lying queer Senator from Idaho these days. Slumming in a airport toilet stall? Be honest and open. Too bad if your evangelical base drops you like an HIV infected boyfriend.
