Bill Clinton Will be Named UN Special Envoy to Haiti

(Newser) – Bill Clinton will be named the United Nation’s special envoy to Haiti this week, Foreign Policy reports. Clinton’s popularity in the deeply impoverished nation remains high from his presidential tenure, when he intervened to restore Jean-Bertrand Aristide to the presidency after his 1994 ouster. The announcement, expected tomorrow, follows Hillary Clinton’s recent pledge of $57 million in US aid for Haiti.

Why? Somalia has always been a shithole and always will be a shithole. Its just the way somalia is. All we really need to do is just give crews weapons and allow the creation of a new security industry. Now Haiti., that could be prime real-estate.

Wow that would be great. I believe and hope that he will make a difference for the people of Haiti. There was a recent documentary on the Sundance channel about Haitian politics, and the people. There is a real need for outside intervention. They may need a little Teddy Roosevelt medicine. Reply
