By Kevin Spak,  Newser Staff

(Newser) – Slain abortion doctor George Tiller’s clinic will permanently close its doors, his family announced today. They said they would not be involved in another clinic, instead honoring Tiller through private charitable activities. “We are proud of the service and courage shown by our husband and father,” they said in a statement, “and know that women’s health care needs have been met because of his dedication.”

PSH i will consider your logic, but it must be expanded for me to understand it? I say that with all sincerity. I don't want the Gov. to do anything regarding a persons choice to have or not have a baby. I am just saying that when the choice is made and the baby is implanted in the womb then it should be taken to term and adopted out if she doesn't want it not terminated, killed, aborted, discarded all of which accomplish the same thing and all of which gov should have nothing to do with. Seems pretty straight forward no? The people or Gov. should do what is best for the people. Government should be out of the peoples desire to create a life, but after that life is created then by all means it should be protected. Tmoore.....please reread my post I think you will find I am saying what you are saying: change the laws. I don't make threats.

I understand your point, and agree with it, but unless somebody in the family is an MD, they can't really run the clinic unless another MD is willing to step up and take over the procedures. It may be a matter of practicality more than being too upset to make a clear decision. What is needed is for another doctor to take a stand and step in.

Let me add, that the "war" on abortion should be fought at the ballot box, not in the streets. Shooting a abortion doctor is absurd.
