Sanford Says He Won't Resign, Cites Bible

Compares himself to David, who 'fell mightily,' in apology

(Newser) – Gov. Mark Sanford apologized today to his South Carolina cabinet, the State reports, but said he wouldn’t resign and compared himself to the Biblical David. David “fell mightily, he fell in very significant ways, but was able to pick up the pieces,” said the Republican, adding that he was sorry for having misled his subordinates about jaunts to see his mistress in Argentina.

Will he suffer any kind of reprimand because of his actions? Besides the whole thing between him and his wife. I'm talking about leaving the state without transferring power, etc, etc. Reply

And after watching the video, it infuriates me to no end that he's smirking, acting ever so nonchalantly about the entire matter... Just like it's really no big deal, nothing ever really happened of consequence, status quo - Unbelievable. If you want to quote scripture, sighting David, then you'd better live by it, understanding full and well, the penalty for adultery is death by stoning - You self-righteous prick. http://www.thestate.com/sanford/story/842469.html
