No Jackson Memorial Friday: Family Source

King of Pop can't be buried at Neverland due to legal restrictions

(Newser) – There will be no public memorial for Michael Jackson at the Neverland Ranch this week, the AP reports. Previous reports had said that a viewing would be held Friday at the Santa Barbara estate, but a source close to the family says nothing is planned. Instead, there will likely be a funeral and burial in Los Angeles.

Regardless of where a memorial is held, Jackson can’t be buried at Neverland Ranch because of legal restrictions that bar burials at private residences, the LA Times reports. Besides that hurdle, officials say they worried about the impact of having thousands of cars ascend the narrow mountain road to the ranch. Jackson’s family has the final say on any funeral arrangements.

I could be wrong on this but it was my understanding that Jehovah's Witnesses & Muslims had to be buried immediately following an autopsy. Sorry about that, I forgot that this was Michael Jackson we were talking about. Reply

Correct, no embalming. It is not permissible to bury a dead body in a usurped place nor in a place which is dedicated for purposes other than burial (e.g. in a Masjid). Only Muslim men can attend a Muslim or Muslima burial. Women or females are strictly forbidden to attend funerals, by order of The Koran (See The Prophet Muhammad). A body can only hold up for so long. You can't have the body on display after all this time without embalming. Again, Jackson was only figuratively, likely a Muslim, and only after his host in the Middle-East, through his finances and backing, influenced Jackson to do so - Monetarily motivated (no disrespect intended).
