Mother star moves to TV after hosting Tonys

(Newser) – Neil Patrick Harris is likely to be the host of the next Emmy Awards ceremony, sources tell Variety. The How I Met Your Mother star is in negotiations with CBS and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to front the broadcast Sept. 20. Harris was a hit hosting the Tony Awards, and the Emmys are seeking a ratings boost after last year’s low numbers.

(NEWSER) - Conan O'Brien's network wants him nominated for an Emmy Award—for a show that aired on another network. TBS, where the late-night host/martyr's latest effort will debut in November, is running "for your consideration" ads touting The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien, which crashed and burned on NBC.
