(Newser) – To those mourning the death of Michael Jackson, one congressman has a message for you: get over it. Rep. Peter King posted a YouTube video yesterday blaming "politically correct" media for obsessing over "a pervert, a child molester; he was a pedophile." Asks the New York Republican: "Would you let your child or grandchild be in the same room with Michael Jackson?"

No I wouldn't want my child in the same room with Jackson, but on the other hand I also wouldn't trust my daughter around some of the GOP leaders either. Before Kind tries to deflect attention from the party to Jackson he should make sure that the party has their own doorstep clear. Reply

I wouldnt want my children around you Peter King because you are worse than anything Michael was ever accused of doing. Michael Jackson was never convicted of anything. Vultures who used their own children set Michael up as a fall guy to get money. If any of these parents who say Michael actually did what they claimed, then they would not have settled for cash but would have wanted the truth to come out. They took the money because that is why they fabricated stories about Michael. As for you peter king.....you are a hatefilled man. You hate gays, muslims, democrats, liberals and Michael Jackson. If your daughter/son was molested by MJ, would you put a price tag on it? The fact of the matter is the parents of these children put a price tag on their kid and cashed in the check instead of going through with criminal charges.

@liberaljesus that was just a tirade at person who said what other people are thinking. Do you really believe what you wrote? The people took the money because that is what was going to make their life easier. What normal adult male sleeps with 12 old boys? You could even add they aren't related to him or his kids. Micheal did something inappropriate with those children that is why he paid millions of dollars to their families. He may not have been convicted because he settled out of court.

Yes, until someone corrects your wikipedia article, and you have to take back your earlier comment. We each have to judge the reliability of the info sources we're using. A wikipedia article claiming MJ was circumcised (or not) would seem to be something easily and often challenged if it weren't apparently based on some reliable sources . . .

No one is ever found "innocent", merely not guilty. Sometimes "not guilty" only means that the state couldn't prove its case, not that the defendant is innocent.

So, jwilsonte, would you say the same about Elvis Presley? and Van Gogh? and Freud? MJ's drug addiction is one of the most minor points in the whole scheme of things. It may have been what killed him, but he never sang advocating drug use, so why do you focus on that? .................. MJ's connection to pedophilia is always going to be the biggest negative about him. ............. And "he had good music at times"? Come on, man. I suppose the Beatles, Mozart, and Miles Davis had "good music at times" too? You start trying to talk down Michael Jackson's music, and everyone is just going to take you for a fool. Mjoh3, the reason he paid or most likely reason is the same reason MOST "stars" pay off for blackmail, to shut down and make b/s go away, simple as that. To be honest paying them off is much cheaper than paying an Attorney to prove in court you are innocent, simple math which is demonstrated in MJ's life, he did both, he paid them off as well as faced a trial and was found not guilty. So attempt to show some decency and let them bury the the guy, he is gone, it is over and what ever happened will be sorted out by those who actually know, not anyone speculating on a post in a news blog or a politician blowing air so he will again be seen in a positive light? How can you settle out of court for something that is a criminal offense? Molesting a child is still a crime, right? Maybe he paid them off because of bad advise or because he just wanted to make it go away. The kids have to say what happened before charges can be brought. If they made the kid say it for money or they sold the kid out in the end, for money, it seems to me the parents walked the dark side. What would you want from your parents if it were true? Someone can do what they want to me if they have enough money to pay off my parents and leave the door open for him to hurt other children...? Reply
