(Newser) – A teacher in a Catholic school in England has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a student he allegedly attacked suffered serious head injuries, reports the Guardian. The teacher assaulted the 14-year-old boy with a weight block used in a science lab as class was about to begin, said Nottinghamshire police. The student, who was arguing with the teacher before the attack, is in stable condition.

The teacher also assaulted two other students, a boy and a girl, who were not seriously injured, according to cops. “Obviously, the whole class is traumatized. People send their children here from great distances because of its academic record and what happened is very much out of character for the school," said a police official in charge of the investigation.

"...is very much out of character for the school." It's true. Their brochure explicitly states "We here at Fancy Pants Academy roundly poo-poo the excessive clobbering of our scholars with blunt objects. To do otherwise would be most uncharacteristic of us." Reply

Twelve years of nuns and four years of Jesuits. Thank God, my temporal lobe was firing enough to get out of that. Weird too that the thing I found so disgusting--that nobody 'cept me and my fellow Catholics could go to heaven seems to be the thing that turns so many other people on. Temporal lobe. It's the thing that makes you irrational. Don't blame me--blame the family that you inherited it from. Genetics and Temporal lobes. I got other junk, from my DNA. What are you going to do? A nice start would be accepting that your ability to have faith is not an option. It's a trait. Helps dealing with the Muslims cause your closer than you think. What? God didn't draft the Koran? Silly people to not realize that God only drafted the Torah. Cause no matter how low that temporal lobe you know that the New Testament was written by a few guys starting a religion. Like Hubbard. Or like John Smith getting the Mormon thing from the Jesus who lived in America with the Indians. Scoff at one and you have to scoff at them all. Unless your weak lobe can't go there. Then be sweet and accept that you have something others can't have---and cut them some slack. Reply
