MJ Popped 10 Xanax a Night

Plus, family argues over remains, and more

(Newser) – Michael Jackson was taking 10 Xanax pills a night, but that was an improvement—he “was doing better because he was down from 30 to 40” pills, according to a confidential document obtained by CNN. Among other details: To get prescriptions, he used his employees’ names and traveled to out-of-state doctors. In other news:

  • Dr. Conrad Murray wants $300,000 from AEG for the 8 weeks he spent as Jackson’s personal physician, his lawyer tells E!, and a Los Angeles councilman wants the promoter to hand over some cash for Tuesday’s memorial.
  • Family members held a private open-casket viewing of Jackson's body, and “he looked like himself. He looked like he just was laying there sleeping,” a cousin tells People. “He looked peaceful.”
  • The family is arguing over what to do with his remains, adds the New York Post, so for now he is in the Forest Lawn crypt of Motown label founder Berry Gordy.

It depends on the miligrams per tablet..but it is safe to say 10 xanax would put you to sleep for a l-o-o-on-g time.

I've never taken Xanax, but I've seen friends take at MOST two and be good for nothing but a 10-hour nap. How could he even function?
