Waiter failed 'to explain the proper method'

(NEWSER) - Just because Arturo Carvajal is a doctor, that doesn't mean he knows how to eat an artichoke—and he's suing a Miami restaurant for not instructing him on the proper method. Carvajal ordered the grilled artichoke (a vegetable he had "never seen nor heard of previously," according to court filings) and proceeded to eat the entire thing, rather than scraping just the meat off of the leaves. Reportedly wore a rival company's hair extensions

(NEWSER) - Paris Hilton's bad hair day should cost her $35 million, according to a hair extensions company suing the heiress. Hairtech says the celebrity endorser was seen wearing another company's extensions in 2008 in breach of contract, Reuters reports. The firm says Hilton also missed a launch party for their product because she was in jail for drunk driving. Hilton's lawyer says they'll defend the case "vigorously." More»

(NEWSER) - A group of Facebook users has sued the social networking company for violating consumer privacy laws by harvesting personal information for commercial purposes and failing to compensate clients, reports CNET. "Plaintiffs and the general public desire and expect a level of privacy, which Facebook has failed to satisfy," states the California lawsuit, which includes two children, a model, photographer and actress. (NEWSER) - A financial firm is suing Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz for failing to cooperate to repay a $24 million loan, reports the Telegraph. Leibovitz last year put up her photographs and two homes as collateral for the money to pay off debts. But now Art Capital Group said the 59-year-old photographer is engaging in "boldly deceptive" conduct to dodge selling some of that property to begin repaying the debt. More»
