Johns Hopkins Tops Hospital Rankings

Mayo Clinic, UCLA follow in US News rankings

(Newser) – Johns Hopkins has been named America’s best hospital for the 19th year in a row, the Baltimore Sun reports. The closely followed US News & World Report rankings placed Hopkins first in rheumatology, urology, and ear, nose and throat; it was second in neurology and neurosurgery, geriatrics, gynecology, ophthalmology, and psychiatry. Rounding out the top three overall were the Mayo Clinic and the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

The rest of the top 10:

  1. Cleveland Clinic
  2. Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston
  3. New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell
  4. University of California-San Francisco Medical Center
  5. Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
  6. Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University, St. Louis
  7. Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston
  1. Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC

seems like you are the one with huge loads of money, and can afford one dollar for a tab of tylenol, sth which you can get for one penny in other countries, and i dont mean that they are subsidized. They arenot. The hospitals and the pharmaceuticals and the insurance companies really want a huge chunk of the pie in US, leaving even people with decent jobs stranded when it comes to health care. Technology doesnt make health care best, its the affordability and accessibility that makes it better. So what if you can reimplant a severed hand, if you are going to charge 100,000 dollars for it. Come to my country (any Asian country), we will do that for less than 1000 dollars, and i am not joking( I know what i am talking about, i am a doctor); Health system 'businessmen' in US are just way too greedy.
