Salt Lake Tops Best Airports List

Share

(Newser) – Some airports just seem to be charmed when it comes to on-time departures. Travel + Leisure ranks the 10 best in America based on percentage of flights delayed:

  1. Salt Lake City: Last year's winner continues its reign, cutting delays by 2% from 2008, to just 12%.
  2. Portland, Ore.: At 15%, it held onto the No. 2 spot from 2008 (but just barely).

  1. Washington, DC (Reagan National) and Minneapolis St. Paul (tie): They also tied for third last year; both dropped 3 points and now report delays on 16% of flights.
  2. Los Angeles, San Diego, Tampa, and Detroit (tie): All come in at 17%, with San Diego down from No. 3, and LAX and Tampa up from No.10. Detroit is a newcomer.
