Man Charged With 2nd Sex Attack on Horse

'I feel like I've been raped,' says angry owner

(Newser) – A shotgun-toting stable owner rigged a stall with a surveillance camera to catch an unbridled perv having sex with her horse—again, authorities said. "I feel like I’ve been raped,“ said the furious owner, who caught the suspect getting down to business on a chair behind her filly Sugar.

Rodell Vereen, 50, was convicted for the same attack on the same horse in 2007, reports WBTB-TV. He admitted again this time that he was "having relations" with a horse at the South Carolina stable, police said. He's being held on $30,000 bond, and Sugar is being treated for a nasty infection.

(NEWSER) - A Michigan medical student is being charged with torturing and killing up to 14 dogs he purchased in the last nine months. Police checked on David Thompson, 24, after a tipster complained that he was bringing in a large number of dogs, mostly Italian greyhounds, that were never seen again. The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine suspended Thompson last week when the first charges surfaced . Thompson is currently in jail, struggling to come up with his $100,000 bail. If convicted, he faces up to 4 years in prison on each of the 14 charges against him, reports WLNS . More»

(NEWSER) - Newborn puppies locked in a suitcase and left to die in a cupboard have been reunited big, happy, and healthy. It was too late to save five of the black-and-white mixed breed pups when British animal control officers discovered them in a breeder's home. But seven survivors were nursed back to health and adopted by loving homes, and the new owners held a reunion party, reuniting the dogs for the first time since their ordeal more than two years ago. (NEWSER) - Ever since 18 men and boys were busted in the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl , there have been hints of a “blame the victim” mentality emerging—and last night, some residents crossed from hints to explicitly blaming the 11-year-old girl. “She lied about her age. Them boys didn't rape her. She wanted this to happen. I'm not taking nobody's side, but if she hadn't put herself in that predicament, this would have never happened,” said one resident.
