Group Buys Anti-Dobbs Ads to Air on CNN

Bring 'em on, says host caught up in birther controversy

(Newser) – Liberal watchdog group Media Matters is buying CNN airtime to run anti-Lou Dobbs ads during the host’s own show next week, reports Plum Line. The ads condemn Dobbs’ recent calls for Barack Obama to produce a legitimate birth certificate and will also run on Fox News and MSNBC in New York, Washington, and Atlanta.

Though Dobbs is calling the spots the “Swift Boat of the left,” he apparently won’t try to stop them, notes the Huffington Post. "That sounds like a fascinating ad," he said on his radio show. The situation presents CNN with an unhappy dilemma, writes Greg Sargent of Plum Line: Run the ads, or add to the controversy by scrapping them.

my god. i really cannot believe this is still an issue. it's like debating whether the earth is round or flat. it has been proven to be round, even if you havent actually seen that for yourself from a spaceship. obama has proved his citizenship, even if you dont get to see his birth certificate with your own eyes. as Kokuaguy said, the election committee was convinced and the supreme court of the US was convinced. we trusted the supreme court to put an end to the bush/gore election doubts, even though they didnt choose "my guy". they've given obama their approval - it is done. let it effing go.

You know this birther trash is idiotic. Do you silly people out there proudly beating your chest and proclaiming yourslef birthers honestly don't think the government conducted a detailed investigation of a State Senator, much less a presidential nomination? You know why it hasn't been produced, because everyone back in DC is sitting back watching these birthers lool like the paranoid Noobs they are.
