$1.2B in Apple Tablet PCs Coming Next Year

The rumors are true: Apple is making a 10-inch-screen tablet PC to compete with mini-laptops in the $500-to-$700 range, InformationWeek reports. Apple has sent orders to an unnamed Chinese supplier and, one analyst says, will likely rake in $1.2 billion by selling 2 million tablets next year. Appealing to recession-minded consumers, tablets are the fastest-rising segment in today's computer market.
