You might have heard that Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian are famous for being famous. “False! They are primarily famous for being the sisters of Kim Kardashian,” writes Troy Patterson for Slate—and now they have their very own reality show. “In these days of pseudo-celebrity and rampant vapidity,” it’s “healthy every now and then to cry uncle, sit back, and appreciate the mindless pleasures that the apocalypse has to offer.” In that spirit, Patterson recommends: Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami.

The show is about Kourtney and Khloé opening a boutique—or “about frivolity, sorority, and the bikini bottoms of South Beach.” Sunday’s episode features a fight with Kim that culminates with an oddly poetic clip: “For my money, a scene depicting an attractive, empty celebrity packing her bags is what reality TV is all about. Glamour, banality, voyeurism, excess. It's all rather purple, a lovely lurid sunset.” (More Kourtney Kardashian stories.)
