Smelling chemical in sweat makes women consider men cuter

(Newser) – Men, if you want to win over your date, maybe you should skip the shower. A chemical found in both sexes' sweat attracts women, a study suggests. A researcher in Scotland dabbed a bit of the testosterone-derived chemical on female subjects’ upper lips before a speed-dating session, the Independent reports. Those with androstadienone on their lips gave men slightly but significantly higher attractiveness ratings.

What is it with people and extremes. They're not saying never shower, they're saying sweat a bit (within reason) to get your natural pheromones out there. Most of the time, if you live in a hot place you'll develop this just driving to your date's location. In a sense they could have phrased it as "don't bathe in cologne" and gotten the same effect for most urban-dwelling men. Reply
