Jude Law Wants Paternity Test for Lovechild

After fling with Samantha Burke, Law isn't convinced baby Sophia is his

(Newser) – Don’t roll out the Father of the Year award for Jude Law just yet. The alleged babydaddy has yet to meet Samantha Burke’s daughter Sophia because he’s waiting on a DNA test to prove he’s the father—though he did pay for the birth. “It was an act of kindness rather than an admission that he was the dad,” a friend tells News of the World.

“Until he is 100% certain she is his daughter he is only communicating through lawyers,” the source continues. “If he is the father he will meet his obligations to the child.” Also speaking out: Burke’s 80-year-old grandma, who is no fan of Law. “She's a lovely outgoing girl and he's a lot older man, with three children from a failed marriage. It breaks your heart,” she says.

Sad that this is "news." Of course he should get a paternity test, it's standard procedure for securing child support for the kid for starters. Reply

i agree. whether or not he chooses to bond with the child is his choice but knowing if she's her biological father will make it easier to sleep at night. I see all the time that women say whatever they need to say to make sure that they are financially taken care of and disregard their children's sanity by telling them the man with the paycheck.

the grandmother should shut up, she makes it sound like it's all of Jude Law's mistake, no one forced the daughter into bed with him and if he is the father she'll never have to work for the next 18 years. I heard she already collected $$ from the tabloids on the birth. Reply
