Vick Gets New Endorsement Deal With Nike

Athletic-apparel company cut ties with QB over dogfighting rap

(Newser) – Nike, which ate a reported $1.5 million when it severed ties with Michael Vick over his dogfighting rap in 2007, has signed the quarterback to a new endorsement deal. “He has always been a fan of the brand and looks forward to the relationship,” his agent tells SportsBusiness Journal of Vick, 29, who Sunday played his first NFL game in nearly 3 years.

Sadly, I don't think this will hurt them at all.

My one personal boycott (can't support them all) has been against Nike (for child factory workers for way back when). This is all the more reason to keep it going.

I'm forced to agree with Jester etc. Though I've been a supporter of giving Vick a chance to redeem himself, the decent thing would have been for Nike to wait at least one season before doing this. I've never boycotted Nike, though I've never had a high opinion of them. This finally tips the scale for me. Just another asocial "anything to pursue the almighty dollar" corporate behemoth, from the looks of this.
