Comcast Near $35B Deal for NBC Universal

Cable giant has been in talks with owner of network for weeks

Share

(Newser) – Comcast is near a $35 billion deal to acquire NBC Universal, which encompasses the network, a movie studio, cable channels and more, sources tell the Wrap. Bankers from the cable giant and General Electric, NBCU’s parent company, met Tuesday after Comcast decided to think bigger than a pursuit of the 20% share being unloaded by shareholder Vivendi.

Well GE should be pleased to be joined by a fellow member of the US Defense Industry/Israeli Right-wing Allegiance Club. And I'm sure Americans will be happy to know that yet another public messenger has the right credentials to be distilling information to the masses. Reply

If you knew anything about the relationship between mainstream America media and the business interests of the corporations that own them, you wouldn't be asking what? This is the same media that never questioned the evidence of WMD in Iraq or the lack of a proper inquiry into the collapse of all the WTC buildings.

i basically agree with you, hughchi - but you could stand to work on your people skills. "if you knew anything...." is a hell of a lousy way to start explaining yourself to someone who asked a simple question.
