(Newser) – It wasn't quite the 3am phone call Hillary Clinton envisioned, but still big news in the White House. Robert Gibbs had to wake up the president before dawn today with news that he'd won the Nobel Peace Prize. "The president was humbled to be selected," said Gibbs, who learned of the news from reporters. Still not much formal reaction from the White House, though when Reuters informed David Axelrod that much of the world was stunned, he responded, "As are we."

IndependentThinker, If you were to read Readers post 90% of them have to do with people being racist. I'm not blind to racism either but I also don't think it is the reason for everything. I could care less that Obama won the peace prize, I just hate the excuse of racism being used whenever someone disagrees with Obama. It takes away from true racism. That's what I was saying. When I said I was an independent I meant that I don't consider myself a Democrat or a Republican. I think about the issue then I come up with my own conclusion. I'm sorry if I went against your definition of an independent.

@Reader644 & Indep: I would NEVER say this a bad thing for the US...but if I question whether it's justified does NOT make me a racist...try speaking intelligently please
