Mayer to Mag: I'll Sodomize You

John Mayer gives possibly the best interview ever to New York

(Newser) – John Mayer, always the charmer, waxed poetic on everything from Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize to sodomy with New York. Highlights:

  • On Obama’s Nobel: "Do you think I'm smart enough to be able to articulate to you why our president receiving the Nobel Peace Prize is a bit early for things? If you don't know who else should have gotten it instead of Obama, I love you, you're beautiful, but shut your fucking mouth."

  • On the public option: "Have you ever heard me play guitar? I'm really fucking good. You know what I'm bad at? Answering questions about public health care. This is not in my wheelhouse."
  • On his upcoming album: "It's going to be quite melodically bright, but the themes are all about heartbreak. The lyrics are the heartbreak, the melody is the hope. If you have the lyrics being the heartbreak and the music as the heartbreak, your editor made you ask stupid fucking questions!"
  • On the interview in general: "You're not building a journalistic career. You're making yourself look like a moron and you're not a moron. Who's your editor?"
  • Last words: "I'm going to forcefully sodomize your editor."

well ya gotta hand it to him on one thing though...politics can be the kiss of death to a music persona, or really screw them over...just ask the Dixie chicks....THEY WERE the hottest trio, until they decided to get all political....a bit .Crudely put but Mayer has the right idea

He actually seems pretty funny and down to earth. Why are you so upset about it?

This actually left me with the opposite impression. He seems like a good dude.
