London Cops Hunt Girls in Gay's Murder

Teens kicked, punched man after shouting abuse

Share

(Newser) – Police are hunting two teenage girls and a young man after the murder of a gay man in central London. The victim, 62, suffered severe brain damage and died earlier this week after his life support machine was switched off. The trio punched and kicked the man to the ground after he chided them for shouting homophobic abuse at him and a friend as they walked through tourist hot spot Trafalgar Square, the Independent reports.

"Normally in these sorts of cases we are looking for young males but in this case two of the three suspects are female," said the detective leading the investigation. "It is also rare that this should happen in central London."

London police are seeking these two teens, seen on CCTV, after the murder of a 62-year-old gay man in central London.

This pair of skanky chavs and their equally girlish boyfriend will be busted soon enough. And then they'll get the Bronson treatment. Reply

It's kindof scary how this behavior seems to be increasing around the world. Or is it just that it's getting more media coverage? Reply

I think coverage has increased à la "If it bleeds it leads." What interests / scares the poop out of me more than any possible increase in violence is the apparent increase in densely populated venues (city squares, train/subway stations, shopping malls) where the violence occurs, suggesting that we the public are not prepared to rescue the victims. Would I have intervened had I been at Trafalgar Square that evening, or would I have thought it wise not to get involved, and the cops will be here any minute, you know?

that's the thing people need to understand. these occurrences are not AT ALL increasing just the media coverage of them.

but still i think this crime is still the same crime regardless of the motive. if you kill someone by beating them to death it shouldn't matter if you did it because they were gay or had the wrong color shirt on it's the same crime. hate crime laws are nonsense.
