Chris Christie slammed Jon Corzine’s for hinting at his weight in campaign ads and comments, saying the incumbent governor should “man up” and call him fat directly. Corzine has run ads showing Christie’s belly in slow-mo, and, when asked whether he thought his opponent was fat earlier this month, responded: “Am I bald?” “If you’re going to do it,” Christie said of that incident. “At least man up and say I’m fat.”

“Afterward he wusses out and says, ‘No, no, no. I didn’t mean that, I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ Man up. If you say I’m fat, I’m fat. Let’s go. Let’s talk about it,” Christie told Don Imus. The GOP candidate is clearly trying to take control of the weight issue, Politico notes. He joked with Imus that he’d be “a big fat winner” in New Jersey Tuesday.
