(Newser) – Not sold on Apple’s new iPad? Well, if the tech rumor mill is correct (assuming it isn’t completely busted from the leadup to last week’s unveiling), “Apple is pretty far along on work on second tablet device,” MG Siegler reports for TechCrunch. “A bigger one. And this one may be much more like a Mac than an iPhone.”

The next big thing could be closer in size to a Macbook model—a 15.4-inch screen, perhaps, to the iPad’s 9.7—and run Apple’s OS X operating system much the same way. Siegler sees more information coming at the June Apple developers conference, and, a source says, a release of the gadget within a year.

a modem? Why would I want my computer to call another computer? Inter-what? That's stupid! It will never catch on.
