(Newser) – An Australian banker who faces firing for ogling semi-nude photos of supermodel Miranda Kerr in the background of a live TV interview is getting some big-name support: Kerr herself. “I am told there is a petition to save his job and of course I would sign it,” the Victoria’s Secret star (and Orlando Bloom galpal) tells Melbourne’s Herald Sun of trader David Kiely, who’s suspended as Macquarie Bank investigates.

The video, as perhaps you know, has become an Internet sensation, the Telegraph adds, scoring more than 2 million YouTube hits and inspiring a handful of Facebook support groups, plus an online petition.
