(Newser) – Roman Polanski may be stuck in a Swiss chalet under house arrest, but his latest film is packing movie houses and just won him a Best Director award at the Berlin International Film Festival. The Ghost Writer, a thriller starring Ian McGregor, is the story of an author who’s asked to finish writing the memoirs of a former British prime minister. Polanski did the final editing of the film under house arrest as he battles extradition proceedings by US officials seeking to haul him back to the US to face sentencing in a rape case.
