McCain Slams Obama for Backroom Deals

Obama doesn't want to focus on process

(Newser) – When John McCain finally got a chance to speak at the health care summit today, he let Barack Obama have it, slamming him for crafting the legislation with backroom deals. In particular, he hit on the deal the White House struck with Big Pharma, in which Obama promised to block the re-importation of drugs. “People are angry,” McCain said. “What we got was a process that you and I both said we would change in Washington.”

Obama looked annoyed, at one point trying to cut McCain off, and finally said, “John…We’re not campaigning anymore—the election’s over.” McCain replied with a laugh, “I’m reminded of that every day.” Obama didn’t respond to the Pharma charge, simply saying, “We can have a debate about process, or we can have a debate about how we’re going to help the American people.”

Now the fucking disqus server is having errors. Newser prints less real news on the regular grid than you get on the User Grid. With this new system you have to push buttons and run all over hell and back to even find a comment or a "like" or a response. I have to log in again if I want to load more comments. This is the buggiest damned site on the net. I loved Newser when I first started using it but it's deteriorated badly. Now the server's back up but there will be another bug next place I look.

did you mean tried to. It was a swing and a miss. Obama put him in his place. The American people are sick to death of the GOP's hypocrisy. If you did not see it my god it was breath taking the open faced lying going on by theGOP. They have out done themselves with the hypocrisy this time.

McCain is correct. Obama broke a campaign promise here, clearly. Raise your hand, lefties, if you give Obama a pass for breaking this promise, and the next one, and the next one, and, well, you get it, don't you lib?
