(Newser) – The Jersey Shore guidos and guidettes might soon have some competition in the form of Brighton Beach, a Russian version of the MTV reality show hit set in, you guessed it, the Brighton Beach community of New York. If its website is any indication, the show will involve lots of vodka, borscht, and techno music. And did we mention vodka?

"We're hoping to dispel some of the stereotypes and promote some of the others," one co-creator tells the New York Daily News, adding that—though the website casting call specifically asks for “super outgoing and fun-loving Russian-Americans that sometimes sneak kalbaska, pel'meni, and vodka from the fridge”—“not all Russian people just guzzle vodka." The creators have already met with a few networks.
