Reporter Heads Roll After Bruni Affair Stories

Sarkozy wants those who 'spread fear to feel fear'

(Newser) – Two reporters have been axed with more likely to follow amid French President Nicolas Sarkozy's fury at being called a cuckold in the press. Seems the French aren't so sanguine about marital infidelity after all. Wide-spread media reports of an affair by wife Carla Bruni, reportedly followed by a retaliatory affair by the president, have been hotly denied by the Elysée Palace, and now Sarkozy is demanding that heads roll.

"We are going to war on these ignominious reports. We want to take things as far as we can to make sure this will never happen again," said Sarkozy spokesman Pierre Charon. "We want those who tried to spread fear to feel fear themselves."

Sarkozy sucks. A bigoted, opinionated George-Bush-Wannabe, he has short-man syndrome: He can dish it but he can't take it. I hope these reporters turn out to be correct in their suspicions.
