Even Steve Jobs never claimed that the iPad could be used to run a nation but Norway's stranded prime minister is doing exactly that. Jens Stoltenberg, who is stuck in New York as volcanic ash causes the continued closure of European airspace, is using his new Apple gadget to run the Norwegian government from the US, his press secretary tells CNN.

Stoltenberg and many thousands of others stranded by the cloud of ash from an Icelandic volcano will probably be waiting for at least another day before European airspace is clear and flights can resume, authorities say. The FAA is working to move some of the many affected flights from the US to international destinations by rerouting them around the huge cloud of ash.
