(Newser) – Arizona's immigration law is going to make the state a safe haven for Democrats in the long term, blogs kos at Daily Kos. For proof, check out the latest Public Policy Polling survey of the governor's race, which shows Democrat Terry Goodard increasing his lead among Hispanics over GOP incumbent Jan Brewer from 20 points to 46.

"Arizona Latinos have gone, literally overnight, from being perhaps the most pro-GOP in the nation, to joining California as the most anti-GOP ones in the nation." What's worse for Republicans, whites will soon be a minority. "Within a decade, Arizona will be as reliably Democratic as California is today. And when that day arrives, we'll be able to trace it all to last Friday's passage of SB 1070."

My hispanic bothers and sisters please wise up! Do you ever wonder why those so call latino and latina congress members have never attempted to bring up or even write any immigration laws to help us. The Arizona state senator who wrote this law, we should all be grateful for him, and this why. Because of this legislative action the U.S. Congess may finally deal with this. If not this year maybe next year. But if you were to wise up all of you would go to the party (Republican) at least they are trying to deal with the issuses of immigration. I am, because the left is not doing anything. I was born in this great country and believe in its laws. My grandparents were from Sonora, Mexico and came into the USA LEGALLY, and worked their whole lives to give us a better life. If I was illegally in MEXICO I would be picked up, beaten and held in jail until my family paid thousand of dollars to get me out of jail. I know of persons who have personally experience this and it is serious. If we continue to allow individuals to violate our laws in 50 years or less we will be just like MEXICO. And just like they say in MEXICO there is only one MEXICO and we should keep it that way. Don't get me wrong. I lived and worked in MEXICO for over six years. And the people of MEXICO (the 95 percent that obey the laws) are great people and deserve better. But not at our expense. This law will not be abused by our law enforcement officials. I believe we should give them the chance to do the right thing as they so often do. The Democratic party has not done anything in D.C. because they are there only to protect unions jobs. These may be the same jobs that many hispanics and latinos don't get access too. On the other side the GOP does not endorse the unions. What we need is to help this party (GOP) in getting more seats in the congress so to deal with the immigration problems. Face it, there is only so much money we can print before all of us suffer (legal residents and individuals illegally) in this country. Don't put your anger out on Arizona, but focus on those individual congress members, you remember the ones we voting in office (the latinos and latinas) that just all but forgot about us after they took office after promising they would create new immigration laws. I say let's show them that WE are not racist and put those individuals in public office that are trying to deal with the immigration issuses and get rid of those latinos and latinas that have fail us all these years. Right now it has only been the GOP party in Arizona that is, at least trying to do something. Regardless of how you feel about the issuse.

You're exactly right face of rnc,if I were in Mexico I'd be trying to get here too.I think that we should going after employers who hire illegals,I also think that we should make it easier to grant citizenship to people who want to come here and work.I think the drug traffickers should absoloutely be hunted down and seriously punished.Niether party is without blame in this situation...Thing is that absolutley nothing has been done...Maybe this law will force the government to do something about it..I hope anyway...
