Zoo Shows Off Its Crocs— Then Roasts Them for You You can also dine on antelope, hippo at the Beijing Zoo By Kate Seamons, Newser Staff Posted May 22, 2010 5:18 AM CDT 13 comments Comments See it, then eat it. (AP Photo/Heng Sinith) (Newser) – There's nothing like spending the day at the zoo, marveling at scary crocs, graceful antelope, and springy kangaroo—then heading into its restaurant and munching on them. At least, that's what you can do at the Beijing Zoo, which fills its eatery's menu with some of the same types of animals that fill its enclosures, served steamed, braised, or roasted. Though they've been doing it for years, it's just recently caused a stir, notes the Christian Science Monitor. The zoo says none of the meat it dishes up comes from its own exhibits.
