Just when you think Mexican drug violence can't get much grislier comes the gruesome police discovery of four headless bodies hanging from a bridge south of Mexico City. A note attached to the mutilated corpses warned that a similar fate awaits anyone who supports Edgar Vladez—a US citizen known as "Barbie" for his long blond hair—who is battling to control the Beltran Leyva drug cartel, reports the BBC.

The bodies were found in Cuernavaca, a popular weekend getaway for wealthy Mexicans. Other bodies have been discovered hanging from the Cuernavaca bridge, but these were the first headless corpses. (More Mexico stories.)
