(Newser) – She hasn't exactly cultivated a maternal image, nor a resume most adoption agencies would drool over, but Amanda Knox tells an Italian lawmaker that she wants to adopt kids—you know, when she gets out of that whole prison thing. The lawmaker, Rocco Girlanda, is publishing a book, Take Me With You—Talks With Amanda Knox in Prison, based on interviews that also reveal she'd like to be a writer. The tome also features Knox's poetry, letters, and personal views, but doesn't touch on Meredith Kercher's murder.

Girlanda met Foxy Knoxy about the time she was convicted last year, and the two struck up a jailhouse friendship, reports the AP. "Everything grew from a desire to get to know an American girl, the same age as one of my daughters, who has found herself to be living in the most dramatic experience of her life," Girlanda writes.

It's really sad that the US is falling apart around us and people are more concerned about some unknown girl in an Italian prison. But, that sensationalism for you.

It's really sad if she isn't guilty. I really don't know what to think about all of it. I do know that systems are corrupt and I sure would hate to be in one out of the country.

It's disgusting to me that people are so quick to verify her guilt without one shred of evidence. If any of you in the lynch mob had actually examined the FACTS of the case, you'd know that neither she nor Raffaele Sollecito are guilty of anything. Rudy Guede, whose DNA was found on the bloody bra of Kercher, looks much more viable. His footprint also matched a bloody footprint in the bathroom. Anti-Americanism, a corrupt justice system, and two innocent people in prison.
