Lady Tigers hold Cowgirls to 15% shooting in first half

(Newser) - LSU had a fairly easy tuneup for North Carolina in the regional semifinals, as the Lady Tigers cruised by Oklahoma State 67-52 today, reports the Associated Press. (Newser) - Andrea Riley's free throw with 0.7 seconds remaining gave Oklahoma State a 73-72 see-saw victory over Florida State to advance to the regional semifinals in the women's NCAA tournament, only two years removed from an 0-16 Big 12 season. Riley got to the line after being fouled by FSU's Shante Williams while attempting an awkward buzzer-beating jumper, reports the AP. More »

OK State tops ETSU, Marist roars past DePaul

(Newser) - Jayne Appel posted a career-best 33 points, 29 in the first half, as the Stanford Cardinal crushed first-timers Cleveland State last night, 85-47. Kaley Klein posted 16 points for 15th seeded Cleveland State, who won a mere eight games last year, the AP reports. Stanford will take on either UTEP or Western Kentucky on Monday.
