The FBI think they’ve found the man who left an explosive at Detroit's McNamara Federal Building—only to see it languish in the Lost and Found for three weeks. Meet 42-year-old Gary Mikulich, or as he calls himself, “President Mikulich.” In an affidavit, the FBI says Mikulich has been making strange complaints since January about something called the “card system,” which he says has “led to the murder of thousands of people and has attacked him.”

Mikulich lives in northern Michigan, has an electrical engineering degree, and sometimes refers to himself as the “nominated president of the United States of America.” Authorities tagged him as a suspect when they realized that the Husky tool bag the bomb had been found in was only sold at Home Depot. A Home Depot near Mikulich’s home sold a bag and a timer on Feb. 14—one of only nine similar sales in the US since last fall, according to the AP. Mikulich has been charged with trying to use an explosive to damage the building and is to appear in court today. Click here for more on the lost-and-found mishap. (More Gary Mikulich stories.)
