(Newser) – The Maple Leafs rebounded to top the surging Canadiens 4-2, just two nights after their disappointing season was punctuated by a brutal 8-0 home loss to the Panthers. Montreal was hoping to gain ground on conference-leading Ottawa, but Toronto had other ideas, outshooting the Habs 36-28. Also in hockey:

  • The Ducks continued to rebound from a six-game skid, topping the Rangers 4-1 after beating the Islanders a game earlier, also in New York.
  • The Canucks also got a road win out East, stopping a four-game losing streak by quieting the Thrashers 2-1.
