Let the celebrity mugshots of 2009 begin. Actor and playwright Sam Shepard faces charges of drunken driving and speeding after being pulled over in Normal, Ill., the Bloomington Pantagraph reports. Shepard, 65, who won the Pulitzer for his 1979 play Buried Child, reportedly had a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit. As an actor, he's appeared in such films as Black Hawk Down, The Notebook, and The Right Stuff.
“The way he pulled up on the curb, it appeared he was driving under the influence,” said a local officer.
