(Newser) – The California man held in the kidnapping of Jaycee Dugard boasts of an ability to "speak in the tongue of angels" granted by "the Creator" in rantings in his religious blog, reports Gawker. The power came to Phillip Garrido after God "removed a problem from my shoulders that behavioral scientists believe is not possible to remove," he writes in a possible reference to the convicted sex offender's crimes.

Garrido was granted his special power "in order to provide a wake-up call that will include the salvation of the entire world," he explains in Voices Revealed, a blog linked to his God's Desire "church" which Garrido registered last year. Others can witness his ability to "control sound with my mind" through a device he has devised with "headphone application," he notes. Garrido is currently being held El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, conspiracy and sex assault charges.

The mentally ill flock to church. Religion is a means to justify insanity.
