Tila: I'm Allergic to Booze; Bartender: Truth, More Like

(Newser) – Reality star Tila Tequila turned to Twitter today to tell her side of Saturday’s run-in with NFL star Shawne Merriman, writing that she’s “allergic” to alcohol and so couldn't have been drunk at the time he allegedly choked her. She also takes a jab at Chargers linebacker Merriman, suspended last season for using performance-enhancing drugs: “Steroid use makes people act aggressive … known fact.”

Meanwhile, the owner of a San Diego bar where Merriman and Tequila, aka Tila Nguyen, spent time Saturday says his staff reports that she was drinking, while Merriman ordered just bottled water. “I feel sorry for the guy and I think the truth needs to be told,” James Brennan tells the AP. To Tequila’s “allergic” tweet, he replied: “It sounds like she's allergic to the truth.”

from what I understand, the nickname was made as to be ironic since she is allergic to alcohol. Just putting that out there :)
