(Newser) – An Egyptian scholar wants the death penalty for anyone importing a device that helps women fake virginity—claiming it violates Islamic law by spreading perversion in society. The gadget releases a liquid that looks like blood, allowing a new bride to make it appear her hymen has been ruptured. The China-made device sells in Syria for about $15, the BBC reports.

And even more to the fact why do we insist on judging another totally different culture by own own standards? This is why America has constantly misjudged Middle Eastern Politics, face it if they wanted different they would stand up as a society and change these rules which by our rules are barbaric. This is what they choose and how they live and die. American reporters print this chit to enrage the populace and make a sensational headline and this type thinking is what got us involved in Iraq many years before Saddam was even in power and the same with Iran. Screw the barbaric b/s and leave it in the desert it is none of our business.

Interesting take Reader. I have often noted that half of the Islamic world is women and if they want to assert themselves then they should do it and we shouldn't force anything on anyone. The moms just have to stop raising their babies with religion. The world would be a much better place.

I agree Reader. I am sick of hearing about it too. They get you enraged with the headline like it's happening here. They don't want that product in their country and that punishment, although harsh in my eyes (unacceptible in others') is a pretty simple to avoid. Dont import virgin proving kits. They'll be a lot harder to get there than superbowl tickets here.

well for one thing Prowleze, if you knew how to read, you would know that it says they kill the importers of the kits, which in Egypt is probably going to be a man. 2nd point, I dont like Cheetos. 3rd. There are a few things you can get life in prison for in this country if you import. You must be the nosy neighbor sort, since you're going to generalize about us.

Christian Amannpour of CNN showed videos smuggled out of Afghanistan before the U. S. invasion. In some of the videos, the Taliban had rounded up prostitutes, took them to a soccer stadium, lined them up on their knees, and then shot them in the back of the head with a rifle. Some of the girls were age 14, and for the most part their families were starving. Now I do understand about letting the rest of the world live its own life in its own way. But when some bastards are running around killing defenseless people just because they can, then it's a different thing for me. After seeing those videos I was ready to support an invasion anywhere on Earth to stop a system of government like that. Of course the world is so full of these kinds of governments, because powerful nations are ready to do business with them, and enable them. (China and Darfour, Russia and Iran, The U. S. and Iraq, the U. S and Iran's Shah, The U. S. and Cuba's Batista, the U. S. and Nicaragua's Samoza, well it goes on and on).
