Actor hurls himself from 13,500 feet for perfect landing at Chicago show

(Newser) - Wisecracking comedian Bill Murray launched himself from 13,500 feet to start off the Chicago Air and Water Show yesterday, AP reports. "Is there some frequent flier program?" quipped the 57-year-old actor before leaping from a plane and executing several spins strapped to the belly of a sergeant from the Army's Golden Knights parachute team. (Newser) - A stunt pilot doing loop-the-loops at a Dayton air show was killed in a crash today, just a day after another pilot died in a Oshkosh, WI, air show. The stunt pilot  was flying one of two  S2S biplanes when he crashed at the end of the runway, before thousands of fans. More »

Pilot Killed in S.C. Blue Angel Crash

First crash of elite Navy flyers since 1999

(Newser) - Navy Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Davis crashed his F/A-18 Hornet jet fighter today during an air show in Beaufort, SC where he and five other members of the Blue Angel demonstration team were flying. The crash took the pilot’s life and also injured eight people on the ground. More »
