Michelle Obama: Best Place to Talk Politics? Church

First lady raises eyebrows with speech promoting political engagement

(Newser) – The Obamas might have a checkered history with religion and politics, what with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the president's "clinging" gaffe. But in a speech last week spotted by CNS News, Michelle Obama told the crowd that there was "no place better" than church to discuss politics. "To anyone who says that church is no place to talk about these issues, you tell them there is no place better—no place better," Obama told parishioners at the African Methodist Episcopal Church's general conference in Nashville.

"Because ultimately, these are not just political issues—they are moral issues," Obama continued. "They’re issues that have to do with human dignity and human potential." Obama's speech generally focused on civic engagement, urging the crowd to vote and participate in local politics. The Blaze notes that churches are legally barred from venturing too deeply into politics, and that Democrats have oft lamented the religious right's political might.

Michelle Obama couldn't be further from me on this point.  Preachers who push any political agenda suck.

Well black churches have been preaching anti-white sentiments for many years. I guess spreading anti-America, anti-religion, and anti-white in schools and the media isn't enough for them. They want to seal the election and Liberal agenda by ensuring the churches are filled with their BS too.  Sorry, but my religion doesn't profess hate or genocide.  It may not condone certain things, but it never says to kill or hate ANY group or person. No wonder so many blacks convert to Islam, the most racist religion there is. Both preach destruction, murder, and hate. This country is history.

If you want to talk to your friends about politics and happen to do so when you see them at church .. fine by me.  If you want to talk about politics from the front of the church (whether you are a guest speaker or the local preacher or anyone else) .. NOT fine by me.  It is wrong when the right does it.  It is wrong when the left does it.
