Ken can keep his BarBe, but only if he dresses her more decently, an Ohio town ruled this week. Kenny Tessel says business is up 40% at his Reading barbecue joint since he put the mannequin outside dressed only in a bikini: “Sex sells.” But after listening to complaining neighbors, a town review board told Tessel to find her a shirt, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
“He’s gone too far with this,” one neighbor testified, saying the mannequin attracted “people who are looking for sex.” The board agreed, with one member noting that in her usual attire, the mannequin “would not be allowed in our city pool.” Tessel was outraged, fuming about “being told what she can and can’t wear.” BarBe, whom he’d dressed in a T-shirt for the occasion, said nothing.
