No Wedding Gifts, Please; Just Fund My Startup

(Newser) – A Silicon Valley couple has forsaken a traditional wedding registry for venture capital, Gawker reports. “The World's First Start-up Wedding Registry” doesn’t ask guests for appliances or candlesticks; instead, they can give enough to “feed an outsourced engineer for a day” or pay a month’s worth of utilities for the couple’s startup, Aboomba. What better gift than a slim shot at Internet superwealth?

I guess this is one way to keep shareholders out of your business. Genius if you think about it.

This is a great idea. Who needs a bunch more domestic junk? Most people have all that stuff already. What's wrong with asking for something that can have a real impact on their lives?
