President Obama will return 5% of his salary every month as a gesture of support for federal workers soon to be hit with unpaid furloughs, reports the New York Times. Given his $400,000 salary, the move amounts to about $16,600 through the end of the year. A White House official says the percentage is on par with cuts that non-defense federal agencies are facing under the sequester. Defense chief Chuck Hagel made a similar move yesterday.
