This writer is apparently not the only one convinced the foot gets heavier when a good song comes on the radio. A fan of singer Halsey confessed Tuesday to getting a first-ever speeding ticket while listening to the new single "Nightmare." "When asked why I was going 99 in a 70 I was ~dangerously~ close to admitting I was bangin out to @halsey's new song," the fan wrote. Just 20 minutes later, the "Bad at Love" singer responded, per BuzzFeed: "What's your Venmo. I'll pay your ticket. DRIVE SAFELY PLEASE!!!!"

The fan later posted a screenshot showing a $250 deposit within the mobile payment service. "I will NEVER forget your kindness and will continue blasting your music forever (just at a safer speed)," the fan wrote, apparently to Halsey. According to Billboard, "Halsey wanted to write a song about what it's like to be a woman in the year 2019," resulting in "Nightmare"—"an effective rallying cry" that "harnesses that breakup song's raw personal hurt and expands it into a universal outrage." It's Halsey's first solo single of the year. (More speeding ticket stories.)
